Description
Monsters and beasts of legend show you a whole new side of Edinburgh's Old City in this twisting, turning, puzzle-filled tour. Discover buried secrets, both heartwarming and chilling, and tales from the city's long and fabled past. Which real-life wizard owned a cursed walking stick? Where are the best and worst places to practice witchcraft? How can you use saliva to bring luck and banish evil? The answers may surprise and frighten you.
This outdoor escape game-style tour will show you city highlights and hidden gems including: the Royal Mile, St Giles Cathedral, East Prince St Gardens, Tolbooth Kirk, a host of historic and strange statues and narrow alleyways that will transport you back to bygone years. All this plus puzzles, challenges, great pubs and cafes and plenty of surprises. This is an engaging new way to experience an ancient and endlessly fascinating part of the city, perfect for first time visitors and locals alike.
How It Works
Your team will receive clues on your phones that, once deciphered, will guide you to interesting and scenic parts of the city. At each of these you will solve riddles, discover facts and unlock your next clue.The route is walking distance and features optional breaks at great pubs, bars and cafes along the way. The clues require no prior knowledge and come with hints to make the experience something everyone can enjoy.
Please note this route features lots of stairs and climbing.
